Equipment Changes
As you may recall, the Equipment Standardization Committee withheld from making changes over the
past 6+ months so as to reduce confusion and frustration with frequent changes. A number of new
changes have been recommended and approved for change on January 1st – bag check day (Woo!).
There are a number of relatively small changes but also some new pieces of equipment. Please see a
duty officer to put hands on any of these items. A summary of changes is below:
• Add 1 adult nebulizer mask to ALS Bag **New Equipment**
• Add 1 saline irrigation cap to ambulance cabinet 1R and DOH boxes for flycars ** New
Equipment**
• Add CS/Medication labels to our inventory (when stock arrives)
• Move 60gtts/mL drip sets from front pouch of ALS bag to center compartment
• Remove one 20ga IV catheter of each type (long/short) from the IV drawer
• Add a second 16ga IV catheter of each type (long/short) to the IV drawer
• Remove 22ga IVs from our inventory
• Increase Atrovent from 2 to 3 in the PRB
• Reduce Albuterol from 4 to 3 in the PRB
• Increase IV drawer saline flushes from 2 to 4
• Remove PEEP valve from PRB
• Move NPAs and OPAs into the BVM bag in the PRB
• Remove spare CPAP/BVM neb kit and spare 1L saline from ALS flycars
• Add an adult mask to the pediatric BVM in ambulance cabinet 4 (airway cabinet)
• Update BLS medication reference cards
