emsCharts Updates

emsCharts In order to standardize data and enable more accurate compliance, please review some changes and clarifications on the way some data points should be entered: • In the “Referring” section, please spell out street name designators. Ie: St = Street, Dr = Drive, Cr = Crescent, Ci = Circle, etc. • If at an intersection, the address should be written as: Road Name & Road Name. We should not be using any numerical designators for road names with exception to the expressways. @, /, and, at, or any other abbreviation should not be used between the road names. If the MVA is not at an intersection, use the street address of the closest house or business. • Expressways need to be listed as: “Interstate XXX”. Analytics programs will not be able to interpret North Bound, South Bound, Mile Marker designators, etc. or any abbreviations of the same. This also goes for off-ramps. As always, please check to see that the location geocoded correctly. If not, you will need to calculate mileage manually for transports. We are working on a solution for this known issue, however one has not been developed yet in conjunction with our vendor. Outcomes. You will notice three new outcomes in emsCharts. The outcomes should be straightforward, however a reminder that if at a standby any patients encountered will require a separate chart. • Standby – Scheduled • Standby – Unscheduled • Crew Available – Closer Mutual Aide Resource Used. If you have any questions, please ask Lt Flickner, Steve LaDue or DC Jarrett.
