Operational Checks - Philips Monitors on Saturdays
Starting Saturday, October 8th, Operational Checks of the cardiac monitors will be conducted each week on Saturday. Much the same way we check the oil, we will need to complete a form that will be located in the Shared drive Forms folder. When completed, please turn the form over to the on duty Operations Officer. This is a manufacturer's recommended practice and will help ensure any battery, cable, or software problems are identified early. In order to help maintain our cardiogram and oxygen... read more
Fastrac Fueling
You can now fuel at the Hylan Dr. Fastrac, it works the same way as it does at the West Henrietta Rd. Fastrac. (The card is in the Manager’s desk). Some of the employees were trained at the W. Henrietta Rd. location so they are familiar with us.
PARAMEDICS – CHANGE IN MORPHINE CONCENTRATION
As Strong is no longer supplying Morphine in the 5mg / 2ml vials, HVA will be switching to vials containing 10mg /1ml. The vials will have a red cabinet seal around the neck to denote the concentration change, but as always, you need to confirm right medication, right dose, right patient, and prior to administration. If you have any questions, please see Asst. Chief Michael, Capt. Philippy, or Paramedic Lents.
Special Membership Meeting - VOLUNTEERS
Calling all volunteers! The President of the Board has called for a special meeting of the membership on May 12th at 18:00. The purpose of the special meeting is to vote on amending the Articles of Incorporation of HVA. Please make an effort to attend.

As a routine transmission: the following works: “EMS from 6169, transport to strong” 295 is busy enough, lets keep our... read more
EZ IO
Starting with the Bag Check on the 15th, please replace the EZ-IO Driver (drill) with a new one, to be found in a box in the ALS Room. The new drivers will have an LED on the handle that shows green when fully operational, and flashes red when there is 10% or less battery life. Please put the old ones loose in the same box in the ALS Room.
Nick Condidorio — Cleared Paramedic
Be sure to congratulate Nicholas Condidorio on his recent upgrade to the ALS level!
